Hercules Silver Site Visit - Memorial Day Weekend 2024
My takeaways from four days of traveling to Idaho over Memorial Day Weekend
Over Memorial Day Weekend, I spent four days traveling to and from Idaho to visit Hercules Silver and the town of Cambridge. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Idaho, and a piece of me fell in love with this place. It is not unthinkable that I could move to Idaho in the future. The Hercules Project shows very well and I even had the opportunity to see the Scout Exploration team doing some soil sampling and geophysics on their Cuddy Mountain Property.
Hercules is very busy drilling 24/7 with 3 core rigs and I fully expect this year's drill program to extend at least to Thanksgiving, if not beyond. Below I have selected some of my favorite pics from the visit to help give you a sense of the area and my visit:
Mystery wall along Camp Creek Road (this may have been near where the old Belmont Mill was located).
Beautiful views
More beautiful views (looking towards Metheny Area)
Looking out towards Oregon south of Camp Creek
Geological mapping & porphyry specialist Warren Pratt discussing the lithology of hole 23-21
Polished core box from hole 23-21
Cambridge is very supportive of the project and all the exploration that is ongoing in the area - a huge shot in the arm to the local economy.
Drill program moving along nicely, likely to add a 4th rig soon (RC rig for pre-collars).
New interpretation is that the porphyry is tilted on its side to some extent to the NW - multiple porphyry centers? (Belmont, Haystack, Grade Creek) OR just a very large single porphyry system?
Porphyry corridor still looks like the best target area
Regional mapping is underway
Will drill up by Grade Creek (Forest Service) later in the summer
Hole 21 entered a dike where grades were lower - potassic
Silica hematite altered porphyry leach cap with quartz veins in subcrop
Haystack Area looks very interesting
Transition from high chargeability to moderate chargeability seems to be the most promising areas - testing the footprint of the corridor with big step-outs
Lower plate daylights in some areas to the east by Big Cut, can help to explain the copper in soil anomalies over there.
