One of the most fundamental aspects of technical analysis is the study of uptrends. How do stocks behave when they are in a bullish trend? What are the some of the key characteristics of a bullish stock? Should I be worried if my stock becomes overbought? When should I look to add my positions during uptrends?

I’ll begin with the chart of Artemis Gold (TSX-V:ARTG, OTC:ARGTF):

ARTG.V (Daily)

Notice that ARTG has not breached its rising 156-day moving average. In fact, this moving average helped to mark the low during the November 2024 correction.

Artemis has been a stellar performer the last few years, rising from below $5 per share in 2023 to nearly $22 today. A gold bull market has certainly helped a lot, but a remarkably efficient mine construction at Blackwater deserves the lion’s share of the praise for ARTG’s share price performance.
