Monday afternoon, the U.S. hard rock mining industry received a doubleheader of great news.
White House: President Donald J. Trump Approves Ambler Road Project to Unlock Alaska’s Mineral Potential
Trilogy Metals Announces Strategic Investment by US Federal Government
The Ambler Road has been a point of contention for years; the permits for the road have been held for years due to protracted litigation, with today’s EO the President has finally allowed this project to go forward to support the Administration’s energy dominance agenda.
The Ambler Access Road is a proposed 211-mile, industrial-use-only road from the Ambler Mining District to the Dalton Highway that would enable the advancement of exploration and development of the Company’s mineral projects in Northwest Alaska. The Ambler Road is held by The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), a public corporation of the State of Alaska.
The after-hours market for TMQ was quick to acknowledge the game-changing nature of these new developments:
TMQ (30-minute)
TMQ’s market cap is poised to increase by more than US$500 million.
Alaska’s Ambler District is home to some of the world’s richest known copper-dominant polymetallic deposits, including TMQ’s Arctic and Bornite deposits.
The Trilogy announcement continues a trend of U.S. government equity investments in mining/critical-minerals companies (or converted support into equity-like exposure).
