Thursday's market action felt like some forced selling was hitting the tape across various market sectors, and the leaders from the first half of the year are succumbing to heavy liquidation.
This doesn’t feel like 2008 to me. And, it’s nothing more than a feeling. In 2008 there was an obvious economic problem and all the chatter was about how it was contained, until it wasn’t.
Today there’s a lot of speculation, which seems to be unwinding but, the economy is experiencing a cap ex boom.
just my uninformed opinion, but I think August will produce an important buy point for the SP500 and rally to years end. I’m more interested in what Bessent is saying than the Fed. 2027 is my concern for the stock market.
